Giving Back

The Shippensburg Corn Festival provides funding from our profits each year to projects that meet the following criteria: To aid in funding historic preservation projects and/or the beautification and/or betterment of the community of Shippensburg. Applications are due to the Shippensburg Corn Festival by January 31st of each year to submit funding requests. To apply for funding, submit a letter briefly describing your project. Please include the amount of funding you are requesting. There will be an ad also put into The News Chronicle in November or December outlining this process. Applications should be mailed to Shippensburg Corn Festival; PO Box 704, Shippensburg PA 17257.

Two special donations were given this year above our funds distributed based on our profit from the 2024 Shippensburg Corn Festival. The first was a $40,000 donation to the Coy Public Library of Shippensburg for the amphitheater that they are building. The second special donation was $10,000 made to the Shippensburg Area Athletic Association for renovations at Veterans Stadium/Memorial Park.

The funds distributed in 2025 from the profit of the 2024 Shippensburg Corn Festival were given to the following organizations:

  • $1,000 Christ Among Neighbors to assist with food, rent, clothing, utilities and medical care
  • $1,000 Circle of Love Community Outreach Program to assist with food, clothing and personal care items
  • $1,000 DOIT for Shippensburg Christmas Decor
  • $1,000 Shade Tree Commission for downtown trees
  • $1,000 Shippensburg Garden Committee for the downtown flowers and a paid person to water them
  • $1,000 Shippensburg Historical Society for 2nd floor window caulking, glazing and painting
  • $1,000 Shippensburg Kids Event Committee for the beautification of the town gazebo
  • $1,000 Shippensburg Produce and Outreach for food distribution to the community
  • $1,000 West End Fire and Rescue for the renovation of shower facilities and living area

The funds distributed in 2024 from the profit of the 2023 Shippensburg Corn Festival were given to the following organizations:

  • $1400 Christ Among Neighbors for assisting with food, rent, clothing, utilities and medical care
  • $1500 Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce for a bike rack downtown
  • $1400 Shippensburg Garden Committee for the downtown flowers and to pay for watering
  • $1400 Shippensburg Historical Society for window caulking, glazing and painting
  • $1000 Shippensburg Kids Events Committee for the beautification of the downtown gazebo

The committee could not fund every request, but based on our profit from our 2022 Shippensburg Corn Festival, the committee providing the following funds in 2023:

  • $1200 Ship Kids Event Committee for beautification of the Gazebo
    • $3000 DOIT for Shade Trees
      • $1000 Ship Garden Committee for flowers
        • $1672 Christ Among Neighbors for assistance with food, rent, etc
