Mini Vacation

The Corn Festival is just the beginning. The entire area surrounding Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, abounds with things to do and places to see. The Gettysburg National Military Park is only a short distance away, and there are many historic buildings in Shippensburg, Chambersburg and the surrounding towns and villages.

Shippensburg University and its world-class Luhrs Performing Arts Center are only a few blocks from the festival site, and the western end of the 11-mile Cumberland Valley Rail Trail begins on campus for the convenience of hikers and bikers.

Shippensburg spans the border between Pennsylvania’s Cumberland and Franklin counties, so in addition to the Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, visitors can find a wealth of once-a-year or year-round events, activities and attractions nearby by visiting Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau and Franklin County Visitors Bureau.

A bit farther north and just over the beautiful Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania’s state capital and Chocolatetown, USA, offer even more to see and do in beautiful Central Pennsylvania. For more information, Visit Harrisburg & Hershey.
